Vistry Partnerships delivers new homes in Kirkby

Leading regeneration specialists Vistry Partnerships has finalised construction of the Whitefield Drive development in Kirkby and handed over the completed site to Torus.

The £1.6m regeneration scheme saw a mix of two and three-bedroom family homes built plus high-quality, contemporary one-bedroom apartments.

In total, 13 properties — four one-bed apartments, four two-bedroom houses and five three-bedroom houses — have been built and handed to growth and regeneration Group, Torus. Each of the dwellings are available for affordable rent through the local housing association, and the first residents have already started moving into their new homes.

Commenting on the completion of the site, Vistry Partnerships Managing Director for the North West, Ian Hilliker, said: “We’re delighted to have delivered such an important scheme which brings affordable homes to the local area. The site has excellent transport links making it perfect for commuters across the North West, and we are thrilled our partnership with Torus has allowed us to bring this under-utilised site back to life to benefit the surrounding community.”

Chris Bowen, Managing Director from Torus Developments added: “Whitefield Drive is the latest scheme completed in Knowsley and follows on from the success of our Extra Care Scheme, The Maples, in Kirkby. Committed to increasing access to truly affordable homes in Knowsley, Whitefield Drive is paving the way for our 131 home development at Knowsley Lane and Astley Road in Huyton and is another example of how we are working with trusted partners, such as Vistry Partnerships, to fix the national housing crisis.”

Knowsley Council granted planning permission for the development in November 2018 and construction works took only nine months to complete.
