National maintenance and compliance contractor Novus Property Solutions has celebrated the completion of its 500th property for Wrexham County Borough Council with a ceremony for the council and resident.
Representatives from Novus and Wrexham County Borough Council attended the event, as did the resident of the property, who also received a gift hamper courtesy of the contractor.
Novus, which recently launched its new Interiors and Sustain services following a record year of winning work in 2021, has been working with Wrexham Borough Council since 2018. The four-year void refurbishment contract has seen Novus carry out full and major refurbishment works on Wrexham County Borough Council’s property portfolio, which includes re-wiring, re-plastering, and full kitchen installations for empty properties, as well as external works such as retaining walls and drainage.
Commenting on the event, Novus Property Solutions’ Contracts Manager Richard Owen said: “Thank you to everyone who attended our celebration of completing our 500th property for Wrexham County Borough Council. It is important to us as a business that even as we execute our five-year growth strategy, we continue to show our existing clients just how valued they are.
“The Council has incredibly high standards in order to offer quality homes to residents, so I’m proud of our team for successfully completing an incredible 500 properties to this standard. I would like to thank Wrexham County Borough Council, as well as our subcontractors — who have consistently delivered quality workmanship — and our site management team. We wish the resident of our 500th property all the best in their new home.”
Councillor John Phillips commented: “Contractors on behalf of Wrexham County Borough Council have been carrying out comprehensive improvement works on our social housing properties — congratulations to Novus for completing its 500th void at a property in Penycae. Well done Novus!”
Lee Roberts, Property Investment Lead, and Ian Dobie, Programme Manager, at Wrexham County Borough Council added: “The works that were completed by Novus have been excellent — the properties have been transformed, and the quality of the accommodation for new tenants has been greatly received. The volume of work that has been carried out cannot be underestimated, which is credit to Novus for continuing regardless of the challenges that everyone has faced since March 2020.”
Mirinda Davies, resident of the 500th completed property, also added: “I’m happy with the work seen in my new home, and I’m happy to have a home with a nice, big back garden.”
