Novus Property Solutions has completed a £4.5 million major works programme for long term client Places for People as part of the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) scheme.
The contractor completed a series of works at Adamson Court in Bedford as part of the scheme, including reroofing, external wall insulation, the installation of new windows and doors, upgrading heating systems, and new lighting. All upgrades meet the SHDF’s strict criteria and will see residents benefit from healthier and warmer homes. As part of its social value commitments Novus’ team converted an old gym into a day area for residents to come together.
Throughout the contract, Novus hosted a series of coffee mornings for residents as well as undertaking tidy-up operations by hiring skips and volunteering staff time as part of its ongoing commitment to giving back to the communities in which it works.
Novus has partnered with Places for People for more than 15 years, and is currently delivering a series of schemes across the housing association’s vast property portfolio from South East England to Scotland as part of its major works investment programme.
Commenting on the completion of Adamson Court, Steve Gayter, Executive Director at Novus Property Solutions said: “We’re delighted to have completed a series of major works at Adamson Court in line with the SHDF scheme. The upgrades at Adamson Court will not only have a positive impact for residents but will also play a key role in helping Places for People meet its decarbonisation targets. Our longstanding partnership with Places for People is a fantastic endorsement of the skill and expertise of our teams across Great Britain, and we’re proud of our shared goal of making a real difference to our communities.”
