Inside the factory: M-AR prepares to host summer open day

M-AR is once again opening the doors to its manufacturing facility and head office in Hull for an Open Day on Wednesday 21st June, giving all attendees the opportunity to see how the company operates and importantly to share ideas and best practice.

The open days, which M-AR has successfully hosted several times since they were launched last year, are open to all, with previous sessions attracting a wide range of attendees including architects, specifiers, clients, students, suppliers and M-AR’s peers from across the modular construction sector. Underpinning these events is one of M-AR’s core values — to adopt an open and transparent approach in everything it does.

As well as seeing M-AR’s manufacturing processes in action with its current live projects, the open days give visitors a real insight into the whole process, from the arrival of the raw materials through each stage on the production line as the modules take shape before being finished, wrapped and loaded, ready to deliver to site. In true M-AR style, the events are intended to be ‘access all areas’ to give visitors the complete picture. Taking in its busy 100,000 sq ft factory, which at full capacity can produce 400 modules each year, it’s easy to see why M-AR has recently been named as the third fastest growing company in Yorkshire.

M-AR is passionate about innovating the construction sector and championing the use of MMC and modular construction more widely — encouraging industry-wide collaboration is a vital step towards achieving this aim. As a member of Make UK Modular, M-AR is already working closely with other key modular manufacturers to drive real change in the construction sector to make it greener, more efficient and more inclusive.
