Ian Williams achieves RoSPA Order of Distinction

Ian Williams has achieved the RoSPA (Royal Society for the prevention of Accidents) Order of Distinction Award, an accolade that acknowledges the property services company’s commitment to putting health, safety, and wellbeing excellence at the heart of everything it does, ultimately ensuring everyone gets home safely at the end of every working day.

The RoSPA Health and Safety Awards is the largest occupational health and safety awards programme in the UK. Now into its 67th year, the Awards have almost 2,000 entries every year, covering nearly 50 countries and a reach of over seven million employees. The programme recognises organisations’ commitment to continuous improvement in the prevention of accidents and ill health at work, looking at entrants’ overarching health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.

Mark Pollard, Health and Safety Manager said: “This is a terrific accomplishment for us as an organisation and what an honour to receive the Order of Distinction Award. Thank you to everyone across the business for making this happen. Our teams are working in 1,000s of properties every week across the UK, carrying out their work to deliver what customers need wherever and whenever they need it. But we never cut corners.

“Excellence in health and safety practices is fundamental to our mission of being an employer of choice and this is only realistic if we can ensure that our teams, clients and residents and members of the public are kept safe. The Order of Distinction award is an endorsement that Ian Williams continues to be not only a great place to work, but also a safe place. We will continue strive for improvement, looking after ourselves, our friends, colleagues and customers, and anyone else who may be affected by our work.”

Julia Small, RoSPA’s Achievements Director, commented: “Accidents at work and work-related ill health don’t just have huge financial implications or cause major disruption — they significantly impact an individual’s quality of life. That’s why good safety performance deserves to be recognised and rewarded.

“We are thrilled that Ian Williams has won a RoSPA Award and would like to congratulate them on showing an unwavering commitment to keeping their employees, clients and customers safe from accidental harm and injury.”

The Award Presentation will be made in May.
