The company has unveiled its biggest Secured by Design thermal commercial door.
Based on its TD68 thermal door system, the new door features a 1200 x 2400mm leaf, enabling one-metre clearance for wheelchair access – a condition for many public specifications such as schools or hospitals.
The larger size enables commercial installations to incorporate more glass, without the need for side-lights and making the door easier and more cost-effective to install.
This is further enhanced by a narrow mullion that offers a 20% reduction in width for improved sightlines – delivering the same security performance at a lower overall cost.
The door has been tested successfully to PAS24 and BS:EN 6375 standard, making it ready for Secured by Design and underlining its long-term durability in high-volume environments. Security features include multi-point locking and a robust security bead to help resist attack on the glazing system. The door has a U-value down to 1.7.
Jeff Pearson, Sales Director at Jack Aluminium commented: “This has been achieved by testing several new features – wheelchair-friendly width, a narrower mullion and a larger glass area – to accompany the proven benefits of our TD68 system.”
