Colour added to Hopwood Hall College refectory

High performance commercial flooring from two of Polyflor’s sheet vinyl flooring collections were recently used at Hopwood Hall College.

Designed by Whitespace Consultants Ltd and installed by local contractors Bramhall Flooring Co Ltd, Polyflor XL PU and Polysafe Wood fx PUR flooring was fitted throughout the further education college’s refurbished refectory. The college runs vocational courses in accounting, carpentry & joinery, health & social care, plastering and plumbing amongst others at their Middleton campus in Greater Manchester.

The flooring design chosen for this canteen area features Polyflor’s XL PU product cut into circles and semi circles, laid into a background of Polysafe Wood fx PUR safety flooring in the Rustic Oak design.

Hopwood Hall College’s assistant principal Julia Heap, commented, “Polyflor’s flooring has helped us create a fresh look for our campus refectory which has been a big hit with students and staff alike. We wanted a floor that could provide safety, durability and visual appeal for this break area.”

XL PU flooring in the Tanzanite Blue, Citrine and Connemara Green shades was chosen to add splashes of colour around the servery and seating areas. With a choice of 18 shades in a marbleised decoration, homogeneous vinyl floorcovering from the XL PU collection is available in 1.5 and 2mm gauges.

The Wood fx collection features 12 authentic wood effect designs with in-built sustainable wet slip resistance provided by virtually invisible aggregates through the performance layer designed to ensure underfoot safety without compromising the decorative look of the floor.

Manufactured in the UK, this product is fully HSE Compliant and classified as low slip potential, achieving 36 + on the Pendulum Wet Test and a surface roughness of 20 microns +, fully conforming to the European Safety Flooring Standard EN 13845. The XL PU and Polysafe Wood fx PUR ranges contain recycled material and are 100% recyclable via the Recofloor vinyl take back scheme.
