Representatives from Watford Community Housing were joined by members of Hertsmere Borough Council to officially open much-needed affordable homes in Hertsmere.
Councillor Jean Heywood, the Housing Portfolio Holder for the borough, was amongst those who gathered at Horsehaven Mews, off Bucks Avenue in Bushey, to celebrate the completion of the development and view the new homes.
As part of its ongoing commitment to providing high-quality homes in South-west Hertfordshire, Watford Community Housing has delivered a total of nine new homes through a Section 106 agreement with lead developer Shanly Homes. These include a two-bedroom flat and a three-bedroom house for shared ownership, a one-bedroom flat and a two-bedroom flat for affordable rent, and 2 two-bedroom flats and 3 three-bedroom houses for social rent.
Tina Barnard, Watford Community Housing’s Chief Executive, said: “We are delighted to be able to provide really high-quality homes in such an attractive development in Hertsmere. We are continuing to work closely with Hertsmere Borough Council to deliver much-needed housing in the borough — and by offering these homes across a variety of tenure types we can help to ensure that housing is affordable for a wide range of people.”
Councillor Jean Heywood, Hertsmere Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Housing, commented: “I was delighted to attend the event that marked the completion of these high-quality new homes which have been delivered through funding from developers.
“The scheme provides a range of affordable housing options and is a good example of initiatives that are helping us to address the very significant need for housing in our borough.”
