Wates Residential, part of the UK’s leading family-owned construction, residential development and property services business, the Wates Group, is a successful bidder within the new SCF Residential framework.
SCF is a leading procurement framework in the South of England and has been created to support public sector residential construction and development. Within the framework Wates has been successful in two higher value band lots; for residential delivery (traditional contract or design and build) and residential led development opportunities for over 65 units.
SCF Residential is a four-year framework, available to all public bodies in the South West, South East and Greater London area, giving them access to market leading businesses like Wates that has experience of using Modern Methods of Construction and low-carbon technologies to help organisation on their pathways to net zero and address the housing crisis at the same time.
The announcement caps a successful year for Wates Residential, which has increased its market share and established itself as a major presence in the residential sector. Earlier it was named as Harrow Council’s development partner for its £600m regeneration scheme and has also been awarded places on A2Dominion’s £900m framework for the design and construction of mixed tenure residential properties.
Helen Bunch, Executive Managing Director, Wates Residential, commented: “Wates Residential specialises in the development, design, construction and sale of low to high-rise residential developments for public sector bodies in London as well as the South of England and we look forward to providing our services and unique approach to organisations using the new SCF Residential Framework.
“At Wates Residential we don’t just develop and construct; we create thriving new communities for residents to enjoy. That’s because wherever we work, we are passionate about leaving a legacy through our social value programmes with local businesses and people, because benefiting society, the economy and environment plays an intrinsic part in our approach.”
Matthew Elliott, SCF Senior Framework Manager said: “The successful bidders offer public sector organisations a fantastic breadth of experience and expertise ideally tuned to the needs of the current housing market. We have built this framework around our ethos and practice of collaboration, transparency and added value, with a focus on social value and supporting carbon and environmental impacts.”
This new deal complements the current SCF Construct and SCF Consult frameworks which have delivered over £7 billion worth of combined construction schemes in the last 14 years since they were first established.
