Two social housing providers, Equity Housing Group and Johnnie Johnson Housing, have joined forces to offers residents a new repairs service.
From February 2018, the two organisations will launch a partnership, entering a contract with Kier to provide repairs and maintenance services for 9,000 properties across the North-west, Yorkshire and Derbyshire.
Collette King, Group Chief Executive of Equity Housing Group, said of the partnership: “Too often there is a lack of collaboration between providers working in the same areas, which can be to the detriment of residents. Equity Housing Group and Johnnie Johnson Housing have properties in similar areas of operation and share the same core values. Working together allows us to strengthen our service offering together, so there was no hesitation when the idea of a partnership was discussed.
“Those using our properties are at the forefront of all decisions we make, and we are looking forward to working with both Johnnie Johnson Housing and Kier to provide the best repairs service possible for all our residents.”
The joint partnership came after a number of workshops, where residents of both housing providers requested further investment in the repairs service. They will now benefit from enhanced communication, reduced lead times for repairs and first-time-fixes where possible for all issues that may arise.
Yvonne Castle, Chief Executive at Johnnie Johnson Housing added: “The decision to work together came from our drive to provide an outstanding service for all of our residents. This collaboration will enable that and will benefit residents across both ours and Equity Housing Group’s properties.”
Kier Regional Director, Phil Oades, said: “We are delighted to have been appointed to work with Equity Housing Group and Johnnie Johnson Housing to provide repairs and maintenance works to its properties. We look forward to working in partnership to develop a fresh, more efficient service that is driven by achieving improved outcomes for residents and the wider communities.”
