Procure Plus celebrates continued growth

Procure Plus, a market-leading organisation helping housing associations achieve the best value for money, is marking another period of continued growth in an update to its Value for Money report.

The not-for-profit company, which is from and for housing, delivered more than £113m of projects in the first half of 2022/23 and says it is on track to deliver its strongest performance to date. The significant growth has been driven by large-scale investment in decarbonisation, building safety and planned component replacement works such as replacement kitchens, bathrooms, boilers and roofs.

116 social landlords worked with Procure Plus in the six-month period, investing in a range of goods and services related to repairs and maintenance.  This included 1,129 kitchen handovers, 1,346 bathrooms, 3,505 heating systems and 867 roofs.

Matt Jarratt, Assistant Director of Operations at Procure Plus, said: “Procure Plus exists to ensure housing associations can achieve the best value for money without compromising on quality or having to take unnecessary risks.

“It’s great to see more and more landlords working with us on all elements of procurement and benefitting from this ethos.

“In increasingly challenging times, many housing providers are telling us that taking control of their specification of materials and labour is ensuring that they can procure products and services with an optimum life cycle to ensure quality is the most important factor.

“Transparency is one of our core values, so we are always open with real-time data and reporting. All Procure Plus housing associations can see a breakdown of our materials and labour costs.

“We are proud to be a commercial, not-for-profit organisation, delivering any surplus we make straight back into our communities to provide employment opportunities for those who are most distant from the labour market.”
