Novus seals six-figure fire door deal with Castles & Coast Housing Association

Nationwide property maintenance and compliance contractor Novus Property Solutions has sealed the deal on a large-scale fire door replacement and repair contract with Castles & Coasts Housing Association (CCHA).

CCHA awarded the contract to Novus’ dedicated ‘Assure’ service following a competitive tender, and will see Novus replace some 275 fire doors, and repair more than 100 further existing doorsets, across 13 independent living schemes located throughout Cumbria and the North East.

Work is expected to commence during the industry’s annual Fire Door Safety Week which runs from 31st October to 4th November, with a projected completion date of March 2023.The contract win marks the first time that Novus has worked with the housing association in this region, and further underlines Novus’ position as a nationwide contractor with far-reaching capabilities in this sector.

Since its launch in summer 2021, Assure has offered Novus’ customers across the residential sector a one-stop-shop for specialist assistance in compliance and safety matters, and has gained a deserved reputation as a reliable and knowledgeable partner.

Commenting on the CCHA contract win, David Barnes, Operations Manager at Novus Property Solutions said: “We’re proud to be working with a new client to deliver this important and timely fire safety project. The fact that our work is starting during Fire Door Safety Week 2022 is fantastic, and we’re very happy to be supporting residents in CCHA’s independent living schemes by making their homes safe and secure.

“We launched our Assure service in recognition of the importance of fire safety and compliance within the residential sector, especially for older and vulnerable people. Being in a position to offer the support of a dedicated team of experts to clients like CCHA, across the Great Britain, is not just a point of difference for Novus — it’s a point of pride.”

James Allen, Compliance Manager at CCHA, commented: “The safety of customers is a key priority for CCHA and this contract is an important element of our long-term investment programme. We are extremely happy to be working with Novus as part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring residents are safe in their homes. The commencement of this contract during Fire Door Safety Week 2022 is very timely as we continue to engage with residents to promote and improve fire safety and the security of our properties.”

Castles & Coasts Housing Association owns and manages more than 7,000 homes across the north of England, three quarters of which are located in Cumbria, where the organisation’s head office is based.
