Mears Group Plc is celebrating being recognised for its outstanding work in social mobility.
Mears has been placed at 37 in the Top 75 Social Mobility Employers Index for its focus on offering employment, development, and succession opportunities to everyone, irrespective of their background – and is the only service provider in its sector to achieve this.
This is the fourth year that the repairs, maintenance and social housing provider has taken part in the Social Mobility Employer Index, which is now the leading accreditation to recognise good work for social mobility.
The accreditation is achieved through a combination of benchmarking the company’s approach to social mobility with data-led evidence, alongside the results of an anonymous staff survey.
Gary Jackson, Group Director, Communication and Customer Success said: “Our business is literally rooted in the communities we work. We take our responsibility to social mobility very seriously and hope that wherever we work we contribute to that society as an employer, as a local partner and as a driver of opportunity. I’m sure that colleagues who have learned a trade and have a whole new world of opportunities open to them would agree.”
