Grand Union Housing Group‘s leadership elevator development programmes have been shortlisted, from 330 entries, for the Women in Housing 2023 Awards, in the category for ‘Best career development initiative’.
The leadership elevator consists of four development programmes, or floors as the housing association calls them, that support team leaders and managers to gain the skills, knowledge and experience to move to the next level of leadership.
Anne-Marie Huff, Director of Corporate Services at Grand Union, said: “We see investment in our people as an investment in the communities they serve, and aim to inspire our colleagues to reach their full potential.”
“We believe we have something unique to housing in our Leadership Elevator programme — a successful and engaging way to develop colleagues — and as a result, we have had particular success with promoting women into roles at all levels throughout our business. That’s why we’re so pleased that it’s been shortlisted for this award.”
This initiative is just one part of the K2 academy, Grand Union Housing Group’s in-house learning centre of excellence for colleagues. Each floor of the leadership elevator includes a tailored mix of learning styles including face-to-face and virtual learning spaces, as well as supported learning in the workplace. This ensures all participants, no matter their level, get the most out of the programme.
The Women in Housing Awards celebrate the leaders, innovators and changemakers across the sector, championing the successes of women and sharing learning from teams and individuals within the housing sector.
The awards will be held in Manchester on Monday 26th June 2023.
