Dynamic purchasing system for fire suppression systems launched for social housing sector

Procurement organisation Fusion21 has announced the launch of its national dynamic purchasing system (DPS) for Fire Suppression Systems and Associated Works — offering a complete fire safety solution for the social housing sector and public sector buildings.

There are three specialised lots to select from: Lot 1: Management of the Design, Supply, Installation and Maintenance of Fire Suppression Systems & Fire Safety Works; Lot 2: Design, Supply, Installation and Maintenance of Sprinkler Systems and Lot 3: Design, Supply, Installation and Maintenance of Water Mist & Associated Systems.

The purchasing system has been commissioned in response to feedback from Fusion21 members and will remain open for new suppliers throughout its duration. Using this approach, members will secure greater efficiency savings and value for money, whilst accessing a procurement route that has the flexibility to respond to any future changes in legislation or within the wider marketplace. Now available on the mytenders web portal, the DPS can be found under Notice ID DEC149518.

Nick Verburg, Procurement and Supply Chain Manager at Fusion21, said: “This DPS builds upon our already established fire safety offer so members will soon be able to access additional fire safety works, delivering best value fire suppression systems and other elements of fire safety works as part of this package.

“The system which goes live in March 2018 will also support registered providers to comply with Section 20 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985, as it can facilitate contractor nominations made by leaseholders.”

The application process is focused solely on experience and capability to ensure only specialist suppliers are appointed.
