Global water treatment manufacturer and magnetic filtration pioneer, ADEY, partnered with EEM and Westworks Procurement to host a special event discussing the future changes in energy efficiency requirements within social housing.
The one-day conference, held at ADEY’s head office in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire on the12th November, brought together key industry experts to give advice to social housing providers on how to reduce carbon emissions from housing stock and help cut energy costs for tenants.
Dr Neil Watson, Global Technical Director at ADEY, explained: “UK government has committed to reducing carbon emissions to net zero by 2050. It’s estimated that 13% of the country’s emissions come from homes so social housing has a big role to play in helping to meet this target. To make a real difference, it’s important that manufacturers support social housing providers in embracing technologies that can increase the energy efficiency of both existing and new build housing stock.
“For example, ADEY works with social housing organisations to help them better maintain the health of household central heating systems. Our chemical water treatment solutions and magnetic filters protect systems from the damaging effects of corrosion and magnetite build-up, improving performance and helping to reduce annual energy bills and carbon emissions by up to 7% year on year. It’s critical that we continue to raise awareness of such solutions that are proven to help lower emissions.”
