The latest innovation from Jablite by BEWI is a Pro-Foil Cavity Wall Insulation Board offering a superior thermal performance for use in Partial-Fill and Full-Fill cavity wall applications.
“Our new cavity wall product is manufactured using High Performance EPS with an engineered facing that combines a laminated air cushioned film with a reflective aluminium foil,” explained Stefania Cappiello, Product Development Manager for Jablite by BEWI.
“The result is the product thickness can be significantly reduced to achieve required regulatory or specified U-values, enabling a reduced cavity thickness with no compromise on the thermal performance of the building envelope.”
This superior performance is a consequence of the three elements in this new product. Heat transfer is a combination of conduction, convection and radiation. Jablite Pro-Foil Cavity Wall insulation not only slows down conductive and convective heat flow, but its reflective surface also acts as a radiant barrier to prevent further heat loss.
The board also provides a higher vapour resistance, with the additional benefit of a cavity rainwater barrier created by the overlap at the bottom of the board.
Stefania concluded: “We developed this Pro-Foil cavity wall insulation with Part L and Future Homes Standard 2025 in mind. We believe this product will give housebuilders and brick contractors a new option to address the most recent and upcoming regulatory changes in a new way.”
