Weaver Vale Housing Trust announces five new shared ownership homes in Macclesfield

Families in Macclesfield dreaming of one day owning their own home can now have the opportunity to buy one of five new-build homes through Weaver Vale Housing Trust’s shared ownership scheme with Prospa Homes.

The Cheshire-based housing trust has just taken handover of the homes on the new ‘Bollin Grange’ development, built by Bovis Homes and its award-winning Site Manager, Albert Hassall. Albert has won the National House Building Council ‘Pride in the Job’ award for the Bollin Grange development after previously winning it three other times on other sites.

The homes, comprising two 2-bedroom houses and three 3-bedroom houses are situated off Gaw End Lane, and mark the first time Weaver Vale Housing Trust has sold homes in Macclesfield, under their shared ownership initiative, Prospa Homes.

The scheme, which started on-site earlier this year is being built by Bovis Homes via parent company the Vistry Group and is supported by funding from Homes England. The homes bring much-needed affordable housing to the area.

Prospa Homes, part of the Weaver Vale Housing Trust family, was launched in 2019 with the goal of building and selling shared ownership homes to help meet the aspirations of first-time buyers in Cheshire.

Gemma Wood, Director of Regeneration and New Homes at Weaver Vale Housing Trust, said: “We’re thrilled that our very own Prospa Homes has completed these high-quality new homes at Bollin Grange in Macclesfield, it’s great to see them go up for sale for shared ownership.

“For anyone who is looking to make their first step onto the property ladder but is struggling to afford to buy on the open market, shared ownership gives you the stability and security of owning your own home in an affordable way. And that’s why we launched Prospa Homes, to help level the playing field.

“It’s all part of our wider commitment to tackling housing inequalities in Cheshire and building back fairer so that local people have the chance to own their own homes.”

Freya Halsall, Regional Marketing Manager for Bovis Homes commented: “We are delighted to be partnering with Weaver Vale Housing Trust to support the new buyers on their first step on the property ladder.

“Bollin Grange boasts award-winning homes that offer both quality and scenic surroundings, perfect for those from all walks of life.”
