Leading composite door manufacturer Vista Panels has played a significant role in helping a social modular housing development project reach the finals of the prestigious Scottish Home Awards.
Riverside Scotland, the UK’s largest social housing landlord, and Connect Modular part of the Wee House Group, have been named joint finalists in the Affordable Housing Development of the Year category, in recognition of a £9.8m development in South Ayrshire, Scotland’s largest social modular housing development to date.
The investment — which included Scottish Government funding of £4.7m — began with the delivery of 63 new affordable homes, the first phase of a 250-strong property development located at the site. And helping to deliver much-needed new affordable housing in the area, Vista supplied its high-quality GRP composite door for all the factory built homes.
Ian Smith, Vista’s Business Development and Marketing Manager, commented: “It’s very rewarding to see our products being used on projects that contribute to transforming the housing market, and to have helped this project make the finals of the Scottish Home Awards is such an honour.
“We are dedicated to playing our part in reducing the country’s housing crisis, and so it’s always a privilege to partner with companies that share the same values. We were delighted to work with Riverside Scotland and Connect Modular, and we very much look forward to supplying similar projects in the future.”
Winners of the Scottish Home Awards will be revealed a ceremony at Glasgow’s DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel on 23rd June.
