Sovereign Housing Association has appointed Civica, a global leader in software for public services, to support the creation of a new data warehouse and greater business intelligence capability to improve resident outcomes.
Sovereign is one of the country’s largest housing associations. It manages nearly 60,000 homes and serves nearly 140,000 customers and residents in the South of England.
Sovereign currently uses multiple systems to run essential services for tenants, making it hard to gain insight from data across disparate systems. The housing association has now invested in Microsoft solutions, using Civica’s expertise to deliver an enterprise level data warehouse and business intelligence platform.
With the annual government Housing Sector Risk Profile highlighting failure to manage data correctly as a key risk, the new platform will provide a single location for extracting, loading and transforming previously disparate datasets. This will help Sovereign to continue putting residents at the centre of all activities, building on insights-driven data analysis to deliver better resident services and reduce risk, while enabling compliance and enhanced reporting.
Employees will be able to self-serve by using interactive dashboards, bringing greater efficiency to data handling as well as opportunities for advanced data insights.
Within the new partnership, Civica will review all proposed new architecture and support Sovereign to put appropriate data governance in place. The company will help prioritise the data needed first and work with Sovereign to enable knowledge transfer to employees and deliver long-term value for money.
Andrew Bradley, Head of Data and Analytics, Sovereign said: “We’re delighted to have appointed Civica as a trusted partner to help deliver our new business intelligence platform. As part of Sovereign’s corporate plan, we’ve recognised that we can leverage data and analytics to drive improved customer service and increase operational efficiency.
“Working with the experts at Civica we’ll be leveraging Microsoft modern data warehouse technologies and business intelligence tools to help transform how we understand our customers and homes. It’s a real game changer for Sovereign and a commitment as part of becoming a modern, connected business.”
Ian Holden, Managing Director, Digital at Civica added: “By implementing modern data capabilities, Sovereign is taking a sustainable approach to efficient, data-driven decision making. Introducing a combined data warehouse capability with flexible business intelligence tools means Sovereign can strengthen resident insights and stay compliant with regulatory standards. This includes more efficiently targeting interventions to support sustainable tenancies, reduce voids and optimise asset management.”
