Following a competitive tender process, Homes for Lambeth has appointed PRP to work with residents to deliver a community led masterplan for Central Hill Estate. Central Hill which is located near Crystal Palace is one of six estates Lambeth Council has earmarked for regeneration.
The masterplan will be developed using a co-design approach, working with residents and local stakeholders to deliver a plan that will improve the lived experience for the existing residents whilst also delivering new council and affordable homes to tackle the housing crisis.
The appointment of PRP follows several ‘select the architect’ workshops held on Central Hill since December 2021. More than 150 residents took part in our consultation on how they would to be involved in the masterplanning process and provided their feedback. In the coming weeks, residents will be invited to workshops with PRP and HFL to set out the timeline for the masterplan and the next steps.
Commenting on the news Caroline Pillay, Chair of HFL Group said: “This is a major milestone for Homes for Lambeth but more importantly the residents of Central Hill who have been patiently waiting for progress on our plan.
“We are delighted to be working with PRP who have a successful track record of delivering successful regeneration projects across London. Both Homes for Lambeth and PRP are committed to working with residents to develop the best possible masterplan for Central Hill.”
Manisha Patel, PRP Senior Partner and Transport for London Design Advisor welcomed the news saying: ‘’ This is an incredibly important regeneration programme and we are looking forward to continuing our working relationship with the residents of Central Hill. We will be talking to the community and key stakeholders about the options open to them in the creation of new and improved homes and open spaces.
“We will be carefully considering the unique character of the estate and its relationship with the surrounding area as we strive to create a place that offers true choice through the cycle of life, creating a place for all ages.’’
