A development of 23 homes for affordable rent has been completed in north Liverpool by Plus Dane Housing.
The development in Everton Brow features a mix of two-bedroom houses and one-bedroom flats, located on a newly-created road called Yeoman Close. Construction work was undertaken by Bolton-based contractor Forrest.
Claire Griffiths, executive director of property at Plus Dane, said: “Plus Dane has a long-standing presence in the Everton area and has always been proud to be part of the community. We are delighted to be able to offer a range of new-build properties for affordable rent in the area.”
Neil Ashworth, head of new-build housing at Forrest, added: “Solving the UK housing crisis means closing the gap between supply and demand for affordable housing — a shortfall causing concern in large cities like Liverpool. We are committed to building more quality, low-cost schemes in popular areas like Everton to help meet this need and continue to support these communities in their ongoing development.”
The Everton Brow development has been funded by a combined investment of £30m from Plus Dane and funds made available from a successful application to the Homes and Community’s Agency’s Affordable Homes Programme Grant 2015 – 2018.
It is part of Plus Dane’s development strategy to deliver more than 600 new-build homes across Merseyside and Cheshire over the next three years.
