Cadent, the UK’s biggest gas distribution network, has appointed leading independent property, construction, and infrastructure consultancy Pick Everard as a single lot supplier for its multi-professional construction consultancy services framework.
Cadent manages a pipe distribution network that is more than 80,000 miles in length. This helps serve more than 11 million homes, hospitals, schools, offices, industry and other sites that use gas.
The framework will run for a four-year term, enabling Pick Everard to provide Cadent with support in the delivery of projects across its national estate, which totals 67 sites and incorporates more than 300 buildings including a mix of commercial office and industrial accommodation.
Mathew Benton, Director for Building Surveyors at Pick Everard, said: “Cadent has been a long-term client since its inception thanks to our strong relationships with National Grid and excellent track record in the sector.
“At Pick Everard, it’s really important to us that we ensure our services are provided to clients in the most compliant manner, with frameworks being an excellent vehicle to do so. It’s really important for us as a business to secure positions on frameworks like this one from Cadent to ensure that we can continue to provide our consultancy services to the organisation – and of course continue to build the superb reputation we hold within the utilities sector.”
This is a single lot appointment covering all services deliverable under the framework, which are Project management, CDM, design and specification, architectural design, mechanical and electrical engineering, building and land surveys, environmental impact assessments, interior design, cost consultancy, sustainability, clerk of works, and workplace strategy manager services.
David Harris (pictured above), Partner at Pick Everard, said: “We’re thrilled with this latest framework appointment, which really cements the growth of our position delivering professional services to utilities providers across that sector.
“This particular framework appointment will be central to us continuing to develop and build on the relationship between our firm and Cadent. We’re looking forward to working closely with the team on projects under this framework over the coming four years.”
