Orbit has appointed an Environmental Sustainability Manager to support the ongoing development of its environmental strategy.
In a new role for Orbit, Joanna Crouch joins the award-winning Environmental Sustainability Team following previous roles working at the Environment Agency and Berkeley Homes.
With a focus on stakeholder engagement, zero waste and biodiversity, Joanna will support the progression of the Orbit Earth programme, leading on the development and implementation of Orbit’s environmental management system and maintenance of ISO14001 certification, as well as the management of Orbit’s Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) approved training centre.
“I’ve always had a passion for conservation and sustainability. I have spent a lot of my personal life striving to be the best person I could be and knew I wanted to go into a sustainability role,” said Joanna.
“I wanted to work for a company who were doing ambitious things sustainability-wise, and who have a genuine passion for the environment and sustainability rather than ticking the box. It was clear that sustainability is high up on Orbit’s agenda and really does touch every corner of the business. I’m really excited to help the development of the Orbit Earth programme as we continue on our journey towards net zero carbon and creating thriving communities in more socially responsible and sustainable ways.”
