Gloucester-based Two Rivers Housing is celebrating receiving the RoSPA Gold Medal for health and safety.
The housing association, which provides affordable homes for more than 4,200 families in the Forest of Dean and surrounding area, was awarded the prestigious Gold Medal for health and safety for the ninth year.
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), use these annual awards to recognise organisations that excel in health and safety practice. Almost 2,000 entrants from across the globe apply each year as they strive to achieve the highest possible accolade in the UK’s longest running health and safety awards. The RoSPA Gold Medal is awarded for continually demonstrating best practice in health and safety management. The Two Rivers Housing team will receive the Gold Medal later this year.
Commenting on winning the award, Martin Ward (pictured above), Assistant Director of People and Culture, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded a RoSPA Gold Medal for the ninth year in a row. It demonstrates our clear commitment to meeting best practice when it comes to the health and safety of our tenants and our colleagues.
“The last two years have reinforced the need to have a strong and considered approach to health and safety that enables the organisation to adapt and react to changing situations quickly and effectively.
“This award is once again testament to the hard work of everyone at Two Rivers Housing. Together they have met all the challenges that the pandemic has thrown at us and done everything they could to help keep our tenants and colleagues safe.”
Julia Small, RoSPA’s Head of Qualifications, Awards, and Events, added: “This is a fantastic and well-deserved accomplishment. All our award entrants demonstrate their unwavering commitment and passion for keeping people safe at work. By receiving this recognition Two Rivers Housing join like-minded businesses and organisations worldwide, who represent the very best in their approach to Health and Safety.
“I would like to add my personal thanks for all the work that it has taken to secure this well-deserved award – congratulations to all those involved, who champion and drive-up health and safety standards every day. You are a fantastic example to others in your sector.”
