National maintenance, refurbishment and compliance contractor Novus Property Solutions is celebrating its most successful year for securing new contracts to date, as it announces its highest ever secured pipeline of £176m in 2021 — over 70% higher than its previous record.
Novus’ unprecedented year follows the implementation of its ambitious five-year growth strategy — announced in early 2021 — which includes plans to double profits by 2026. Spearheaded by CEO Steve Davies, who was appointed in July 2021, a key aspect of this strategy is to win high value long-term contracts while maintaining its excellent relationships with existing clients.
The Stoke on Trent headquartered contractor, which has 20 offices throughout Great Britain, is on track to exceed this target following several successful high value bids, including winning £23m of new business in August and September alone, and contracts worth almost £48m in the final quarter of the year.
Novus has been highly effective in executing its new strategy, and has also kept a keen focus on its people-centric legacy: the company’s commitment to social value played a key role in several contract wins from north to south in 2021. As well as its strong company-wide Corporate Social Responsibility scheme, including a national Build Back Better quarterly challenge which sees Novus donate money, materials and labour to a nominated cause, the contractor implements a social value strategy for each contract it undertakes.
As well as this commitment to giving back to the communities in which it works, Novus has historically emphasised the value of its people and their role in the company’s success in 2021. During the height of the pandemic, the company launched its award-winning A Helping Hand from Novus initiative to keep its colleagues — located across the country — informed, included and engaged.
Commenting on the company’s record year, Matt Hiley, Executive Director at Novus Property Solutions said: “We’re incredibly proud to announce our highest work-winning year to date in 2021, despite the challenges of the past 18 months. Our success last year is without doubt a testament to our fantastic colleagues — from our senior management team to those working on site across the length and breadth of Great Britain, and everyone in between including our highly valued clients.
“Novus’ five-year growth strategy is certainly ambitious, but our success in 2021 has proved that we can achieve — and exceed — these goals. I have no doubt that as we continue to work together as a business our success will continue to grow in 2022 and beyond.”
