New supported housing provider House2Home launches in Wigan

A new specialist supported housing provider has launched its first home for people at risk of homelessness in Wigan, coinciding with the National Housing Federation’s Starts at Home Day.

House2Home has developed a good working relationship with Wigan Council to help to address local needs and reduce homelessness and this first home will provide the starting point for ongoing work in the borough.

With more than 10 years experience in the social housing sector with Chartered Status of the CIH, House2Home are experts at turning empty, disused properties into homes, providing high-quality, safe and comfortable supported housing.

House2Home is supporting the NHF’s Starts at Home Day on 1st September, which is celebrating the value of care and support services and the difference that having a safe and secure place to call home can make to people’s lives.

House2Home provides weekly support services for residents which are needs led and tailored to residents’ individual circumstance, which could range from helping with a housing benefit application, debt and welfare management advice or signposting to training and employment opportunities. All bedrooms are en-suite where possible with an in-house maintenance manager.

Tara Bold, Co-founder of House2Home, said: “We are passionate about delivering good quality supported housing and we fully support the NHF’s Starts at Home campaign. We are launching House2Home primarily to make a difference.

“We genuinely care about our residents and having positive outcomes for them. Our aim is that they become valued members of our local communities. We use all of our expertise and local partnership connections to deliver this service to them.

“We want to work with local authorities and housing associations across the North to alleviate homelessness, driving up the standards of supported housing properties in the sector.”

Ryan Bevan, Co-founder of House2Home, added: “We are driven to deliver sustainable supported housing by working with ethical landlords and developers.

“We have developed a strong partnership with Wigan Council, ensuring that standards are high from day one so that residents are comfortable.”
