New rooftop development framework will support with construction of additional homes on top of existing buildings

Pretium Frameworks Ltd has launched an innovative new rooftop development framework, which will enable housing providers to build additional homes on top of existing low-rise buildings.

The PCR 2015-compliant framework was developed jointly with, and is managed on behalf of, Watford Community Housing, and offers an end-to-end solution for the scoping, feasibility, design and construction of rooftop developments.

“Using under-utilised rooftops to create much-needed homes, rather than building new houses from scratch, has many benefits,” said Nick Hann, Pretium’s Head of Frameworks. “As well as providing a practical solution where space is limited, it is cheaper and more sustainable to enhance an existing building than to construct a new one.

“Our new framework provides a one-stop shop solution, supporting housing providers to scope out potential rooftop developments, and taking them through every step of the construction and fit-out process. We are absolutely overwhelmed by the interest that this framework is already generating and look forward to seeing the first projects develop.”
