Meet the Building Safety Regulator — an event for Approved Inspectors

Calling all approved inspectors. Would you like the opportunity to find out, directly from the Building Safety Regulator, just what the future holds for the industry? Do you have questions about how inspections will work going forward and where the responsibility will lie?

On 30th June you have your chance to ask your questions and hear first hand from Peter Baker, Chief Inspector of Buildings for the HSE about the Building Safety Act, how the new regulator will work and how Approved Inspectors can prepare for the change.

This event, hosted by the Association of Consultant Approved Inspectors and the Fire Safety Building Regulations Group, will take place in Manchester at Hotel Football and will see over 100 approved inspectors gathering together to hear from industry leading experts as well as the HSE on issues that affect the whole sector. It will also be an opportunity for the approved inspectors sector to highlight some of the great work that is being done in the sector around competence.

Sir Ken Knight, Chairman of the Independent Expert Panel, will be hosting the whole event and is looking forward to hearing about the great work that is done in this sector, commenting: “All too often the approved inspector sector is overlooked yet it is one of the most dynamic and forward thinking bodies of experts. As a collective, these people are supporting the construction sector to make the right decisions, building better and safer buildings and support the needs of their clients, both commercial and domestic. Today is about showcasing that ability and sharing some of the really exciting work that is being done.”
