Lovell launches huge Salford regeneration development

Following the launch of several successful developments across the North West region, national housebuilder Lovell Homes has announced its latest development in Pendleton, Salford.

Named Spinners Quarter in honour of the area’s rich textile milling heritage, the development is part of a joint venture between Lovell and Together Housing Group, called Lovell Together. Set to be one of the largest strategic residential regeneration projects in Greater Manchester, the first phase will deliver 127 two, three- and four-bedroom properties; 17 of which will be affordable homes for social rent.

Lee Sale, Regional Managing Director at Lovell, said: “We are tremendously excited to launch Spinners Quarter, especially following the fantastic reception we received with the opening of our marketing suite.

“We really wanted this development to cater for everyone, so we worked closely with Salford City Council during planning to align with local housing needs. The first phase therefore includes modern, energy-efficient properties and many of the homes meet the lifetime homes internal space standards with more than 20% of the affordable homes designed to be wheelchair accessible. It’s a really exciting development that we’re thrilled to have finally launched.”

Kevin Ruth, Deputy Chief Executive of Together Housing Group, said this was an extension of the Group’s commitment to the area: “For the majority of the last decade, Together Housing Group has been working in Pendleton to improve the experience of living in the area.

“This new development is part of our ongoing approach of establishing partnerships to help address housing need. We’re delighted to be able to add value to Lovell’s house building expertise in Salford and across the regions to create places that meet the needs of buyers and tenants now and in the future.”

Sales recently went live at the eagerly anticipated development opening, with unprecedented interest from more 700 house hunters who signed up for updates. On opening day, the sales team welcomed 28 interested buyers for appointment only viewings, resulting in one reservation and three early bird reservations. The development is expected to be immensely popular, and the housebuilder has reported bookings for the next month.

Anne-Marie O’Doherty, Regional Sales Director at Lovell Homes, added: “Pendleton is a fantastic place to live and offers great access to the wider North West while fundamentally remaining close to Manchester city centre. The location of the new development perfectly celebrates the best of both worlds and offers plenty of space for homeowners to enjoy, with well-designed homes that boast excellent specifications throughout.

“The development will provide a wide range of housing, as well as some fantastic additional features such as cycling routes and nearby allotments, which will all add to the lifestyle on offer.

“Spinners Quarter will be an important new addition to the residential offering in Salford as well as the wider ongoing transformation across Manchester — an area where, for generations, bringing communities closely together has enabled industries to thrive.”

The Pendleton project is being delivered by the Lovell Together joint venture, which launched in 2020 and will create much needed quality developments, form new communities and meet housing delivery targets across not only the North West but also the East Midlands, Yorkshire, and Humberside.
