Public sector procurement specialist LHC has been recognised for its commitment to employees and awarded the Workplace Wellbeing Charter.
LHC becomes one of just a handful of construction sector organisations to achieve the sought-after accreditation, which includes an ‘excellent’ rating for its health and safety management.
The Workplace Wellbeing Charter, from Health@Work, assesses an organisation across eight categories including health and safety, leadership and mental health. Accreditation involves a rigorous process including a review of evidence of systems and processes and a wellbeing culture audit.
John Skivington, LHC Director, said: “LHC’s priority is to provide its people with a safe and healthy culture and workspace to perform to their full potential. So I’m delighted by our new accreditation, which comes after two years of hard work by all of our teams, led by our HR Manager Pam Chander. It really demonstrates the commitment that everyone at LHC has to looking after each other.
“The report noted that it’s extremely rare for an organisation to be assessed as excellent in any of the categories, so we’re particularly pleased to be rated at that level for our health and safety.”
The Health@Work report commended LHC’s “proactive approach to employee health and wellbeing”, identifying several notable strengths such as regular workforce wellbeing reviews, campaigns throughout the year, the offer of counselling services, and support for working practices that increased engagement during the pandemic and lockdowns.
