Lovell-built Lapwing Apartments in Peterborough ‘Highly Commended’ in national industry awards

A retirement living complex built by partnership homes developer Lovell in Peterborough for independent living provider Cross Keys Homes has been ‘Highly Commended’ at one of the construction industry’s top awards events.

The Lapwing Apartments scheme was honoured in the Social Housing Development of the Year category at The Bricks awards, organised by LABC Warranty and judged by a panel of industry experts.

The award recognises the build quality of the Orton Brimbles development, which was completed by Lovell in September 2017. It has created 54 one- and two-bedroom apartments for residents aged over 55, as well as a range of communal facilities including a restaurant, library, orangery and wildflower-style garden.

The Lovell team celebrate their ‘Highly Commended’ award for Lapwing Apartments.

Lovell Regional Managing Director Simon Medler said: “Lapwing Apartments has delivered outstanding contemporary accommodation for Cross Keys Homes’ residents. I’m delighted that this ‘Highly Commended’ award recognises the skill and dedication of the construction team and the superb quality standards achieved at the development. My congratulations to everyone involved.”

Chief Executive of Cross Keys Homes, Claire Higgins, added: “We would like to offer our congratulations to Lovell on this commendation. Lapwing Apartments is a fantastic addition to our portfolio of extra care accommodation and is already making a huge difference to the residents who have moved in. It is enabling them to live independently, in their own homes, knowing that the support and facilities they need are on hand 24 hours a day. It’s a lovely scheme and we are very pleased to have been able to work with Lovell on making it happen.”
