How electronic heat interface units (HIUs) and digital data can improve smart heat network performance and regulatory compliance is the subject of a new seminar in Switch2 Energy‘s accredited Continuing Professional Development (CPD) series.
The ‘Benefits and efficiencies of a connected HIU’ course will explore the role of this emerging digital technology in radically improving heat network efficiency, reliability and customer service — enabling heat network suppliers to get ahead of new regulation, while reducing costs and carbon emissions.
Attendees will explore how electronic HIUs, such as Switch2’s new NBIoT ICON technology (pictured above), can outperform traditional mechanical HIUs — to provide full remote connectivity with the energy centre and wider heat network systems. Installation is simplified and further benefits are seen at commissioning, practical completion and through long-term operation.
The CPD UK approved seminars count towards CIBSE, CIH and RICS CPD requirements and all attendees receive a certificate. The learning modules are available to those involved in all areas of heat networks, including heat suppliers, housing managers, consultants, designers, engineers and contractors.
Switch2’s CPD seminar series covers all aspects of smart heat network technology, regulation, operation, and maintenance. Each training session is designed to be completed within one hour and can be delivered on location at the trainees’ own site, or remotely.
