Sustainable and social impact property developer, igloo Regeneration, makes senior appointments across the UK as it continues to expand and strengthen its portfolio.
With major award-winning regeneration projects like Ironworks in Leeds, Oakfield in Swindon and the most recent addition of a 100,000 sq ft BREEAM ‘Excellent’ office scheme, The Pioneer, in Stephenson Quarter, Newcastle, igloo’s stance as one of the UK’s leading sustainable developers continues to strengthen.
As a result, it has made a number of senior appointments to aid its continued growth. The business has welcomed a dedicated Development Director and a Senior Development Manager for its North East projects, and a further Development Director for the South, to help manage and deliver its national pipeline of community- and climate-positive projects.
Joe Broadley joins as North East Development Director to oversee existing projects such as Stephenson Quarter, and the Pioneer in Newcastle, whilst also looking for expansion opportunities across the North of England. He will be working alongside Insiyah Khushnood, who has been appointed as Senior Development Manager and will also be leading many projects including the future phases of The Ouseburn in Newcastle.
Focusing on igloo’s projects in the South, including the Central Winchester Regeneration project and the Oakfield development in Swindon with Nationwide Building Society, is Matt Woolgar, who will be responsible for establishing and leading the project team through the full acquisition, design, planning, procurement, construction and sales phases of the development cycle.
Matt said: “I am delighted to be joining igloo at such an exciting time for the business. I am already impressed with the level of creativity and shared value of doing well by doing good! I can already see it is a point of principle that motivates the whole team, and I look forward to being part of it.”
Joe commented: “igloo is going through an incredible period of growth, which I am delighted to be a part of, and its dedication to sustainable and socially responsible property development strongly resonates with my own personal principles. I am thrilled to be able to make a contribution to igloo’s mission to drive positive impact through the development of mixed-use communities across the North.”
Insiyah added: “To be part of a business that is both innovative and ethical in its creation of sustainable and lasting developments and communities, is something I am really proud of. igloo’s schemes have a lasting positive impact, not only to the immediate area but also wider social and economic impact through good design and stewardship.”
In addition to these key hires, Lowri Bond, has now taken a lead role in igloo footprint process. Lowri has more than 18 years of experience working in the cultural and voluntary sectors in the region. She is passionate about engaging and working with communities and young people to ensure their involvement in regeneration projects in their neighbourhoods.
Lowri said: “Personally, I’m really excited to be taking more of a leading role in delivering projects through footprint. Everything we do is driven by impact, whether it’s social, environmental or economic, and it is footprint which binds all of our purposes into our projects and creates meaningful value for our investors and for the communities that we work with.”
Earlier this year it was announced that PfP Capital, the social value and ESG-focused real estate fund manager, had acquired igloo following a successful five-year joint venture partnership. Now part of PfP Capital, igloo is aiming to build on relationships with new investors and continue to work on fresh, innovative, impact-led schemes.
