Ian Williams Ltd, one of the UK’s largest family-owned property services companies, has been appointed to provide comprehensive repairs and voids services to Brighter Places‘ portfolio of over 3,300 homes across Bristol and surrounding areas.
This significant contract award strengthens Ian Williams’ position as a leading provider of social housing maintenance services in the UK, where the company’s Bristol office has been established since 1946. The appointment demonstrates Ian Williams’ expertise in delivering resident-focused repair services that emphasise engagement, continuous improvement, and social value.
The contract, which went live in March, was secured following a rigorous procurement process where Ian Williams’ commitment to quality service delivery and customer satisfaction proved decisive. The company’s proposal aligned perfectly with Brighter Places’ vision for a responsive and adaptive repairs service.
Craig Jones, Response Operations Director from Ian Williams, said: “We are delighted to have been appointed on this contract and look forward to collaborating with Brighter Places to deliver high quality repairs services. We are committed to making a meaningful impact within the local community. This contract provides us with an exciting opportunity to continue this work whilst developing and recruiting for our in-house teams, ensuring sustainable futures and supporting the local economy. Our local Ian Williams Brighter Places team are looking forward to meeting and getting to know customers at upcoming events.”
The partnership with Brighter Places, Bristol’s largest independent housing association providing homes for over 8,000 people, reinforces Ian Williams’ expertise in the social housing sector where the company already performs over 200,000 responsive repair visits annually nationwide.
The company’s service delivery approach emphasises minimal disruption to customers and there will be no change to how Brighter Places’ customers report repairs.
Anna Klimczak, Chief Executive for Brighter Places added: “Our focus is, and always will be, on providing safe, warm, good quality homes for our customers and reliable, good quality responsive repairs are critical to fulfilling this commitment.
“We are delighted to appoint Ian Williams as our new repairs partner. They share our vision to provide a service that can adapt and improve through innovation and feedback to meet the needs of customers and their homes now and in the coming years as well as creating local jobs throughout the contract term.”
