As part of the last major housing event of the year, social landlords and local authorities will be able to access technical advice on energy efficiency measures and delivering MMC for social housing projects via LHC’s virtual stand and online talks at HOMES UK 2020.
LHC are hosting a session at HOMES UK looking at the ‘benefits and challenges of implementing MMC in the development of new and affordable social housing’. Tony Woods, Group Technical Manager at LHC, will be leading the discussion on the ‘Future of Living’ stage at 12pm on Wednesday 2nd December.
The following day, Paul Dawson, Group Technical Manager at LHC, will be leading the ‘Social Housing: rising to the net zero carbon challenge’ session discussing the challenges social housing providers face when trying to meet net-zero carbon emission targets. Paul’s talk will be on the ‘Sustainable Futures’ stage at 2pm on Thursday 3rd December.

We are acutely aware of the impact of multiple pressures on social landlords, not least the need for a ‘whole house’ approach to decarbonisation and retrofit, the drive to adopt greater use of MMC in new-build, and the overarching need to keep all residents safe and well. Our team at this event will be offering their advice and support, and we will be encouraging all of our local authority and housing association partners to tune in for these essential sessions.”
LHC’s Energy Efficiency Measures and Associated Works (N8) framework was launched earlier this month to help local authorities, social landlords and other public bodies to source specialist suppliers who can install a variety of carbon-cutting improvement measures for domestic and public buildings and can also carry out any associated repairs and retrofit work. The framework covers the procurement of 21 individual energy efficiency measures across the UK as well as providing a multi-disciplinary offer. The Energy Efficiency Consultancy Services (N8C) framework, launched on 1st June 2020, complements the N8 framework to help contracting authorities to source firms that specialise in energy efficiency.
