Higgins has been announced as the appointed contractor on a £40m project for A2Dominion on Bath Road in Hounslow to deliver 176 affordable homes and a new food store on the site of a derelict Morrisons.
The homes will be in three blocks, ranging up to seven storeys high and have been designed to incorporate residential, outdoor and retail space and a play area.
Steve Leakey, Managing Director of Higgins commented: “This is an important partnership for Higgins, we are delighted to be working with A2Dominion again following our successful Geron Way project.
“The new scheme at Bath Road will help provide much needed homes for local people, with 93 of them being shared ownership and 83 rented and it will also bring new life to a site that has been derelict for some time. We look forward to starting construction works in the next few weeks.”
Steven Waite, A2Dominion Director of Technical & Commercial, said: “We look forward to working with Higgins to transform this derelict site to provide high-quality and genuinely affordable homes for local people, as well as new retail space.”
The planning scheme has been designed by Colwyn Foulkes & Partners and the delivery architect will be Fourpoint Architects.
