Milton Keynes-based affordable housing provider, Grand Union Housing Group, has appointed Colin Dennis as its new Board Chair.
He will be replacing current Chair James Macmillan who is stepping down from the post in September following his seven-year term on Grand Union’s Board.
Colin has a distinguished career in the financial and aviation sectors and brings with him a wealth of experience in non-executive roles in different regulated sectors, including the NHS, social housing, adult care and social services.
Currently Chair at fellow housing association, Citizen Housing, Colin will shortly be standing down from this position when his six-year term comes to an end later this summer. During his time in the role, he led the consolidation of multiple subsidiaries to form 30,000 home Citizen.
James said: “I’m delighted to be joining Grand Union and am looking forward to working alongside the Board and with colleagues to help achieve its goals. While it’s a challenging time for many customers at the moment, as well as the sector itself, I am excited to see how together we can continue the great work the organisation does in the communities we serve.”
In addition to his role at Citizen, Colin is also Chair of North Devon Homes, a small stock transfer housing association based in Barnstaple.
Aileen Evans, Group Chief Executive, said: “We’re really lucky to have Colin join Grand Union. Not only is he bringing invaluable experience from across a number of different sectors, but he also shares our values and desire to do all we can to build more homes, stronger communities and better lives. I’m looking forward to working with him and continuing our work to make a difference to our customers’ lives.”
