Galliford Try Partnerships and Together Housing in joint venture for Runcorn development

Galliford Try Partnerships and Together Housing have formed a joint venture to bring 237 new houses to market in Sandymoor, Runcorn.

The partnership, Sandymoor JV LLP, will see a mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes offered for open market sale via Galliford Try Partnership’s housebuilding arm, Linden Homes.

Stephen Teagle, Chief Executive at Galliford Try Partnerships, said: “This joint venture with Together Housing will deliver much-needed new homes in the Runcorn community.

“Galliford Try Partnerships shares Together Housing’s vision to be a ground-breaking company building homes, communities and futures. We hope this is the beginning of a long-term partnership, and together, we can make this a reality in Sandymoor and beyond.”

Kevin Ruth, Deputy Chief Executive at Together Housing Group said: “We are delighted to be delivering new homes for sale in Sandymoor through this exciting joint venture with Galliford Try Partnerships. It is important for us to work with organisations that share our vision and aspiration to deliver quality homes, offering a variety of housing options to local communities.”

The joint venture comes after Galliford Try Partnerships signed a deal with the Government’s housing accelerator, Homes England, to develop the land for housing. The site, to the east of Village Street, will bridge the gap between two new residential developments to the north and south.

In addition to the 237 houses, a 100-apartment extra care scheme to be owned by Halton Housing will also be built. The retirement scheme will include a bistro, which will be open to the public as well as residents.

Galliford Try Partnerships has now submitted a detailed planning application to Halton Borough Council for the proposals. It incorporates play areas, maintained landscaping, a bridleway and cycle and pedestrian routes.

Stephen Teagle added: “The development will provide new homes for first-time buyers, growing families and older people, extending the current housing offer within the area.

“Strong partnerships have been at the heart of the Sandymoor proposals from day one and we look forward to continuing to work collaboratively to create a vibrant, sustainable place to live.”

Legal advisors DAC Beachcroft and Bevan Brittan acted for Galliford Try Partnerships and Together Housing respectively. Planning consultancy was provided by Indigo with design services provided by Sten Architecture and JDA Architects.
