ForHousing has been recognised for its outstanding workplace culture, placing 37th in the UK’s Best Large Company category in this year’s Best Companies Awards – an impressive leap of 38 places from last year.
The award follows on from ForHousing maintaining its 2 Star Accreditation earlier this year, confirming the organisation as an outstanding place to work. The recognition reflects the culture, commitment, and great work of all colleagues.
Best Companies highlighted ForHousing’s commitment to excellent management, including access to essential manager training and an annual training programme offering colleagues opportunities to develop further, noting that “learning and development are not afterthoughts, but integral parts of the organisational fabric”.
ForHousing’s approach to colleague wellbeing was also recognised. Best Companies reported that the “inclusive and agile culture is a lived reality for its employees”, supported by flexible working that helps them balance life and work while staying productive and aligned with the organisation’s values.
Colleague inclusion groups such as the Staff Forum, Race Inclusion Network, Access Network, LGBTQ+ Network, and the Tenant Colleague Group, further encourage a strong sense of community and drive organisational improvements.

The organisation has already started implementing its Best Companies action plans, running team workshops, and using survey insights to drive ongoing improvements.
Using colleague feedback, ForHousing is also focused on strengthening development and career progression through its internal mentoring programme, which was launched in October 2023.
