In a first for the housing sector in Wales, leading social landlord Adra is launching a new national framework to deliver a one-stop shop for materials with Travis Perkins Managed Services, part of the UK’s largest building merchants Travis Perkins PLC.
As part of this innovative partnership, members of the new Fframwaith Deunyddiau Cymru Materials Framework will drive social value, with Travis Perkins Managed Services committing 1.5% of the framework’s total spend on materials into a community investment fund to support local initiatives, including offering trainee and apprenticeship opportunities.
Six members have so far joined the framework, which is managed by North Wales’s largest Registered Social Landlord Adra, including Anglesey County Council, Cartrefi Conwy, Clwyd Alyn, Grwp Cynefin and Tai Calon, with the framework being open to all housing associations, local authorities and wider public sector bodies in Wales.
Travis Perkins Managed Services won the service provider tender and has committed dedicated branches for framework members across Wales, with materials available including general building supplies, electrical, roofing, plumbing, heating and kitchens, as well as timber frames and materials for modular construction.
Benefits for members include opportunities for further collaboration with partners across Wales, developing collective solutions to challenges the group are facing, such as decarbonisation, whilst maximising efficiencies and providing service delivery innovation, with members receiving the support of a dedicated Framework Manager.
Paul Painter, Assistant Director of Repairs and Maintenance at Adra, said: “We are proud to launch our new Framework which will enable us to work collaboratively with a wide range of partners to contribute to local economies, tackling specific community challenges and adding social value across Wales.
“This Framework is the first of it’s kind in Wales, in that it is formed and managed by a housing association and offers a one-stop solution for organisations looking for a Managed Service provision.
“Being part of this unique Framework will provide all members involved with great benefits such as collaboration, Value for Money, quality product and service, as well as a contribution towards our communities via the social value clauses. We look forward to developing long-term relationships with partners, showing our commitment to drive best value with suppliers.”
Stuart Hough, Managing Director at Travis Perkins Managed Services, added: “We are delighted that Travis Perkins Managed Services are part of the All Wales Framework, the collaborative approach that the framework brings is the first of its kind. We look forward to developing solutions to drive efficiencies and delivering market leading service and quality that all framework members can rely upon.”
