EQUANS, the new name for ENGIE’s services-led activity, has secured a new 10-year contract with Cheshire East Council worth £97m.
The award extends EQUANS’ long-term partnership with the Council. Having successfully worked with together for seven years, the new contract will see EQUANS not only deliver facilities management (FM), capital projects and compliance services work to Council buildings across the region — but also serve as a strategic partner to support Cheshire East’s ambitious net zero carbon targets.
In May 2019, the Council committed to becoming carbon neutral in their operations by 2025, while assisting in reducing the wider carbon footprint of the borough. Working closely with the Council, EQUANS has already helped reduce carbon emissions by providing carbon reduction consultancy, installation of green infrastructure and provision of energy efficiency improvements across the Cheshire East area. These will continue throughout the duration of the new contract.
Ryan Pearce, Partnership Director at EQUANS UK & Ireland, said: “We are delighted to be extending our existing relationship with Cheshire East Council. This new contract builds on what is already a strong partnership between EQUANS and the Council.
“To date there has been a great deal of collaboration between us to ensure strategic alignment of our capabilities and ensure high performance delivery of service. The council has bold and inspiring targets, and as a business with expertise spanning technical services, FM, energy efficiency, housing and regeneration — we are perfectly placed to support them on this journey.”
