Countryside Partnerships North East has been selected to complete a £119m housing project on Teesside.
Homes England has chosen the construction and regeneration specialist to build around 200 mixed-tenure properties at Kirkleatham Green, near Redcar.
The developer is already working on phase one of the project — 375 homes for sale, shared ownership and private and affordable rent — and phase two — a specialist residential extra care village of 75 homes, for people with a specific housing need.
Designed to improve the choice and quality of homes for people on Teesside, whilst meeting the various housing needs of the area, Kirkleatham Green has been well received by new residents. The Home Builders Federation (HBF) awarded a five-star builder status for the work already completed, following liaison with open market sale and affordable rented customers.
Key to securing this latest contract, Countryside Partnerships North East has risen to Homes England’s challenge to build homes at pace and enable residents to move in quickly — without compromising on quality. Adopting the same mixed-tenure approach to this planned third phase will allow this to continue.
A planning application for this £44m third phase is to be prepared and, if approved, will see the delivery of further homes for affordable rent, shared ownership, private rent and for sale — via Countryside Partnerships’ housebuilding brand Linden Homes. The designs for the properties on this third phase have been created following feedback from phase one customers. Construction could start as soon as November 2023.

Countryside Partnerships North East is currently active on 12 construction sites around the North East region with a gross development value of just over £500m and is working with eight housing associations and seven local authorities.
Formerly known locally as Vistry Partnerships North East, a national merger between Vistry Group and Countryside Partnerships last year, saw a rebrand and change of name. Work on North East projects has continued unaffected and it is very much business as usual.
