Deal for site in Rushden will deliver over 130 affordable homes

A large number of affordable homes are set to be built on land at Prospect Drive in Rushden that will offer more people in the area the opportunity to have their own home.

Platform Housing Group, the largest housing association the Midlands, has purchased the land which was a former Co-op site and will partner with developer Vistry Group to deliver the project.

The scheme will deliver a mixture of ways for people to obtain the homes. 64 will be available through Shared Ownership, 35 through Rent to Buy units and 34 via Affordable Rent. Across the range of two-, three- and four-bedroom properties the homes will feature air source heat pumps to help reduce carbon emissions.

Work is due to start in the summer with the first homes available from August 2025. The development will then be completed by February 2027.
