Your Housing Group (YHG) has completed construction at Century Mill, a major £24.6m development delivering 106 much‑needed new homes in the heart of Farnworth. Located on George Street (BL4 9QX), the scheme offers a mix of one-, two-, three- and four‑bedroom properties for affordable rent and shared ownership, helping more local people take their next step on the housing ladder.
Built by Westchurch Homes, Century Mill forms part of YHG’s ongoing commitment to providing high quality, affordable homes across the North West. The scheme has been supported by Homes England Strategic Partnership Wave 2 funding, including a grant of £5m alongside circa £1,500,000 from the Greater Manchester Brownfield Grant Fund.
The development replaces the former disused mill, transforming the brownfield site into a vibrant new neighbourhood. In total, Century Mill delivers:
- 12 one‑bed maisonettes
- 26 two‑bed houses
- 32 three‑bed houses
- 36 four‑bed houses
Of the 106 new homes, 50 homes are for affordable rent and 56 homes for shared ownership. The project began in February 2023, with completion achieved on schedule this month (February 2026).
