Call for entries: awards scheme seeks excellence in retrofit

Entries for The Retrofit Academy Awards are now open! Following the success of 2022, the awards aim to recognise and showcase the importance of high-quality retrofit projects across the UK, with winners being announced at Futurebuild 2023, one of the biggest events of the year for professionals working in the built environment.

David Pierpoint, CEO at The Retrofit Academy, said: “Winning one of these awards will identify the brightest stars within our industry. These awards recognise excellence across the twin challenges of increasing the quality and the scale of retrofit in the UK. They will identify the leading professionals making their mark in the PAS 2035 era.”

Endorsing success and highlighting the projects that support the UK’s target to achieve net zero, there are eight categories in the Retrofit Academy Awards to enter. As well as increasing credibility, the awards set out to recognise the rising stars in the industry and showcase the hard work and dedication going into outstanding retrofitting projects across the UK, being made across all levels, including retrofit coordinators, installers, social housing, local authority delivery programmes, and individual projects.

The awards will be presented at Futurebuild in March

The prestigious panel of judges, with over 100 years of collective experience in the retrofit industry, will be on the lookout for excellence in service, consistent delivery of high-quality work, and a proven commitment to PAS 2035 principles.

Nominate yourself, your business, or another individual or business in one of the eight award categories:

  • Retrofit Coordinator of the Year
  • Retrofit Assessor of the Year
  • Retrofit Contractor of the Year
  • Retrofit Designer of the Year
  • Retrofit Assessment and Coordination Service
  • Retrofit Academy Graduate Award
  • Best Retrofit Employer Award
  • Best Local Authority or Social Housing Retrofit Programme

Caroline Best, Northern Ireland Housing Executive, winner of The Retrofit Awards 2022 Small Project of the Year, said: “Winning the award was amazing for me personally and as an organisation. It really enforced the attention to detail we paid to technical solutions and, as well as improving social housing, really focussing on making sure we got the detail right. Having that recognised by TRA was really lovely.”

The awards will be presented at Futurebuild, at the ExCel, London on the evening after the event on Tuesday 7th March 2023. Applications close 31st January.
