Caledonia Housing Association has been shortlisted at the DC Thomson cHeRries Awards in the Culture Transformation Category, for its ‘Agile for Everyone’ Project.
The cHeRries awards, in association with Mattioli Woods, recognise excellence in the fields of human resources and organisational effectiveness in Scotland, has shortlisted Caledonia in the Culture Transformation Category, for their ‘Agile for Everyone’ Project.
The Culture Transformation Category assesses businesses who have undergone a workplace culture transformation which has helped the organisation evolve to achieve its strategic objectives as well as ensuring it has a positive impact on employees.
Caledonia is a Registered Social Landlord providing over 5,500 social rented homes across eight local authority areas, with nearly 200 staff across Scotland. Its ‘Agile for Everyone’ approach originated during the Covid pandemic, when the organisation identified that working practices and behaviours had to be redefined to drive continued success. Launched in late 2022 the project followed six key design principles:
• Enhance the customer experience
• Make it easy for people to do their best work
• Strengthen employee engagement
• Enhance performance and productivity
• Reduce our carbon footprint
• Reduce business overheads and enhance value for money
‘Agile for Everyone’ is delivering strong results. Significant and positive progress has been made in delivering these key design principles and Caledonia has seen improvements in customer satisfaction, increased employee engagement and a strategic review of the office estate reduced overheads and carbon emissions.
Barry Johnstone, Director of People at Caledonia Housing Association, said: “At Caledonia we recognise our people are our biggest strength. Our people define what we do and are key to our success. ‘Agile for Everyone’ has been focussed on improving customer service by supporting and enabling the Caledonia workforce to do their best work. Although our approach to agile working involves continuously learning and adapting to maximise customer, employee and business benefits, ‘Agile for Everyone’ has made a significant difference. We are delighted to be nominated for this award and we look forward to celebrating with our fellow nominees in Aberdeen in June.”
The winners will be revealed during an awards evening taking place on Thursday 13th June, at P&J Live, in Aberdeen.
