Work has finished on a circa £2.5m housing development in Loughborough bringing affordable new homes to the area to help meet increasing local demand.
Trinity Gardens, situated on Tulip Crescent, has been developed by housing organisation Midland Heart in partnership with house builder Morris Homes and Charnwood Borough Council.
Consisting of 19, one and two-bedroom homes available under shared ownership, the new homes are ideal for potential buyers looking to get their first foot on the housing ladder or to move to a larger property.

Taking just six months to build, the new homes are part a larger scheme developed by Morris Homes, which will bring a total of 200 new homes to the area over the next two years.
Once complete, the housing development will include a children’s trim trail to encourage exercise and Morris Homes will also maintain the space once all homes have been built as Dominic Harman, Regional Managing Director at Morris Homes, said: “Morris Homes seeks to provide a variety of homes for all people when we plan our developments, which includes community areas.
“Trinity Gardens is about creating a sustainable community, with a mix of affordable homes through shared-ownership and those for general sale, which is close to all the local facilities and transport links that Loughborough has to offer.”
Carl Larter, Executive Director of Assets at Midland Heart, added: “The demand for affordable housing is continuing to grow and it is essential that new housing developments have a proportion of homes available for those looking to buy their first home or move to a larger property.
“Over the next two years, Trinity Gardens will provide much needed housing to Loughborough and we are delighted to be able to deliver this part of the scheme to time and budget.”
The development supports the government’s national crusade to help a million more people into homeownership, which includes investing £4bn to build an additional 135,000 shared ownership homes.
