Build!, an initiative developed and delivered by Cherwell District Council, is releasing the last two blocks of apartments for sale on its 42 apartment development at Gardeners Close, Bicester.
The first two blocks released on the 1st September attracted huge interest from local first-time buyers and a further 20; one- and two-bedroom apartments are available from Monday 15th October. Twenty-two potential buyers are now on their way to owning their own homes.
Cllr Lynn Pratt, Lead Member for Economy, Regeneration, and Property at Cherwell District Council, said: “Cherwell is fully committed to delivering the homes that people need and creating great communities to live in. It is wonderful to offer first-time buyers the opportunity to get onto the property ladder.”
Located just across from the Bicester Village railway station, the apartments are currently the most economical option for owning a new home in Bicester and are available to purchase under the governments shared ownership scheme offering the opportunity to buy your own place for less than the current cost of renting.
One-bedroom apartments are available for as little as £180,000 and can be bought with a 50% share. This means that the flats could be purchased with a £90,000 mortgage and a deposit of just £4,500 and owners paying rent on the remaining share with the option to gradually buy the shares outright over time. All interested parties will have to go through the appropriate eligibility process before a purchase is confirmed and the legal process can start.
