Boston housebuilder delivers affordable homes for local people

Lincolnshire housebuilder Chestnut Homes is building a new range of homes aimed at providing local people in Boston with an affordable place to live.

The housebuilder is building 62 affordable dwellings within the first phase of development at The Quadrant, off Tytton Lane East, Wyberton, on the outskirts of Boston. To date, Chestnut Homes has handed over 48 homes at the site to Lincolnshire Housing Partnership (LHP), with four more set to be completed later this year, and the remaining 10 in 2020.

The 62 affordable homes equate to 42% of the housing in phase one. The entire development will eventually comprise some 500 new homes of which 100 will be affordable.

Chestnut Homes has a strong track record of delivering affordable housing in Boston. Last year, the housebuilder completed Railway Paths, a 100% affordable housing scheme, comprising 12 one-bedroom apartments and five two-bedroom houses, off Tattershall Road.

David Newton, Managing Director of Chestnut Homes, said: “Chestnut Homes has been building new homes in Lincolnshire since 1988 and we are delighted to have had the opportunity to work with Lincolnshire Housing Partnership to offer brand new and affordable homes for local people.

“We are proud to have already provided a significant number of homes for shared ownership and affordable rent at The Quadrant and with work now underway on the final 14 homes within phase one, we are looking forward to seeing more local people making the development their home.”

Martin Woods, Head of Asset Management at Lincolnshire Housing Partnership, said: “Lincolnshire Housing Partnership is pleased to work alongside Chestnut Homes to deliver these new, affordable homes for local people.

“These properties form part of LHP’s commitment to invest in new homes in the local area, delivering quality services in local communities.

“The Quadrant development has already proven to be one of the most popular areas that LHP serves, and we are certain that these latest properties will prove just as popular with our customers.”
